Germany offers three main types of institutions:

🎯 2. Levels of Study

📘 Bachelor’s (3 to 4 years)

  • Requires 13 years of education (Indian students need a foundation year or should apply after 1 year of Indian university)
  • Taught in German (few options in English)
  • Fachhochschulen often offer more hands-on programs

📗 Master’s (1.5 to 2 years)

  • Available in English or German
  • You must have a recognized bachelor’s degree

📙 PhD/Doctoral

  • Based on individual research proposals
  • Usually offered in collaboration with professors
  • Language: English or German depending on the subject

📝 3. ECTS Credit Syste

Germany follows the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS):

  • 1 year = 60 ECTS
  • Bachelor’s = 180–240 ECTS
  • Master’s = 90–120 ECTS

Each course/module has credits based on workload. You need to complete the required credits to graduate.
